Marriage License

Requirements for a Marriage License:

1. The Marriage License will be issued at the same time the application is processed, providing both applicants are present and have all the required documents with them.
2. Birth Certificates are required and the Provincial Health Card for residents of PEI.
3. Divorced persons must produce the original copy of their Certificate of Divorce.
4. Widowed persons must provide a Death Certificate.
5. Both parties must be 18 years of age to be married without consent.
6. The name of the person performing the wedding ceremony (must be a registered clergy for a religious ceremony) and the date and place of marriage.

The Marriage License is valid for 3 months from the date of issue.
